When Dwyane Wade was the cover athlete for NBA Live 06, he became the Finals MVP and his Miami Heat won the NBA Finals.

This year, T-Mac is the cover athlete. I am hoping he will finally get past the first round and I will avidly watch Game 7 versus Utah on Sunday.

NBA Live 08's cover athlete is Gilbert Arenas, who I think would not win an NBA Championship because he doesn't elevate the game of his teammates like Dwade and T-Mac.

I think NBA Live 08's cover athlete should be Baron Davis, who is proving to the world that he is one of the best point guards in the game, dominating Dallas in every inch of the basketball court. He elevated the game of Jason Richardson, Mikael Pietrus, Matt Barnes, and even Stephen Jackson. Their style of play may be compared to Phoenix's offense, but what sets apart this Warriors team is their relentless attack and pressure defense. It will be interesting to see how far they will go in this year's playoffs. They might not win the Championship this year, but next year will be a good one for them.



*Interesting to note that the two teams that met in the Finals last year (Miami and Dallas) are both eliminated in the first round this year.
